Ssanghwa Tea Road
Jeongeup has a long history of tea culture as it has been passed down through old documents such as Sejongsilokjilidge and Shindongguk Yeoji Seungram. Among them, a traditional tea cafe with Ssanghwa Tea as its main menu was formed naturally along Saeam-ro, and gradually expanded to the area near Jangmyeong-dong Community Service Center as it was garnished with the deep taste and healthy food. Jeongeup-style Ssanghwa soup, influenced by the royal medicines, is a restorative soup boiled with a total of 20 specially selected medicinal materials such as sukjihwang, ginger, jujube, chestnuts, ginkgo, pine nuts and others. Ssanghwa means “to be united with each other” or “to be paired with each other” and is used to compensate for one’s lack of energy.
